Ever wanted a career in the Equine Industry? OEEEP is for you! We welcome individuals 15 + and provide them with the education and tools needed to get started in the industry.
Student Eligibility to Participate in the Ontario Equine Education and Employment Program:

PASSION/INTEREST in working with/caring for horses

Unemployed or underemployed

Not in full-time education/training

15+ years of age

Ontario resident and legally entitled to work in Ontario

Once registration is complete:

You will be scheduled to start in the next cohort (cohorts start every 7 weeks.) You will be provided with access to online courses developed by Equine Guelph and the University of Guelph

Each week you will meet with Equine Career Specialist Gabriella Dan to review

The Horse Portal is an interactive website that will be utilized for your online training experience

You will receive an e-manual that will assist you in completing the online training

The online training will take place over a 6-week period and include 6 units
Job Skills:

During online training, VPI will be working with you on completing your resume and understanding your role and responsibilities as an employee
Placement:
-
After completing online training the VPI and the OHHA team will work alongside you to find a placement

A list of eligible farms will be provided to you where resumes can be sent

Students will be responsible for tracking hours through a timesheet, signed by the employer to ensure completion of hours are accurate
